<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">The following are the     auspicious items that you will need to hang <span style="text-decoration: underline;">behind your front door</span> to     usher in good luck and fortunes for the Chinese New Year.</span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">What you need to buy:</span></p>

<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">两棵有根的大头蒜       – Two stems of "Suan" with Big Head (the bigger the better)</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">两棵有叶的红萝卜       – Two sticks of Red Carrots with leaves attached (White Carrots with       leaves attached and dyed in red may be used as an alternative if red       carrots are not available.)</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Red Paper</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Red Strings</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Two small bells</span></p>
</li>
</ol>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Procedures:</span></p>
<ol>

<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Wrap the Red Paper on the pairs of "Suan" and         Red Carrots.</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Tie the Red Strings in such a manner that it is slanted         to one side.</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Attach a small bell to each of the pairs.</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Hang it up on the Eve of Chinese New Year, before or         after Reunion Dinner.</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Say – Soon Soon Li Li Huat ah!!!         顺顺利利, 发!</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Keep it there until near the next Chinese New Year, then       you remove it and prepare for new ones to be hung.</span></p>

<li>
<p align="left"><span style="color: #000000;">Don’t worry, there will not be any rotten or foul smell.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">一枝春花                 - 1 stalk of Spring Flower</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">十二立红枣                 - 12 Dried Dates with seeds</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">一碗团圆饭                 - One bowl of rice</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">十二个两角钱                 - 12 pieces 20 Cents Coins</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="color: #000000;"><img style="margin: 0px 10px 10px; float: left;" alt="cny_prepare_2" src="images/stories/Article_pix/cny_prepare_2.jpg" width="295" height="222" />Scoop a small bowl of rice and fill it up                 full. Insert 12 pieces of 20cts coins halfway into the rice all                 round the side of the bowl. Place 12 Dried Red Dates (those with                 seeds in it) in front of the coins. Put the 春花in                 the center of the rice.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="color: #000000;">Leave the bowl in a corner of the kitchen and                 dispose the rice and the Red Dates 4 or 5 days after New Year.                 Keep 2 coins each in a Red Packet for you to keep in your wallet                 or drawer. The rest of the money can be used to buy some sweets                 to eat.</span></p>
